Becoming brings together 17 current students from the Royal College of Art Fine Arts and Communications Schools. It articulates a shared interest in the theme of ‘becoming’ – in terms of ‘becoming a sustainable artist’, and ‘becoming an art collector'.
The exhibition allows room for the students' exploratory, research-led practices whilst giving visitors the chance to support these emerging artists and learn more about their work and their efforts to become sustainable, both artistically and financially.
All pieces are available to purchase in limited editions, with the aim of raising money for the RCA's Fine Art Bursary Fund. By purchasing a piece from the exhibition, you will be supporting both current students and also future students - truly the next generation of artists.
Alongside the opportunity to present their work, students took part in a day of workshops
that explored an art-world that is constantly changing and innovating. Students were given insights into many different aspects of this world: including how traditional gallery sales work, the growing online art industry, developing their professional profile, and managing exhibitions.
